Our very own Alice (Well, Christine, but you can see the likeness) hosted a tea party on Friday 12 May, to say thank you to the Clubs Knit and Natterers. ‘Yes, that’s it!’ Said the Knitters with a sigh, ‘there is always time for tea.’
‘We love running these events’, said Christine, ‘it is a really lovely way to thank our volunteers for all the work they do for us. They help with knitting, sewing and collecting of items for the baby bundles, joy bags and toy bags we assemble at our knit and natter sessions. Many ladies brought with them items they had recently made, which were displayed during the tea.’
All the work they do is very much valued and it is nice to be able to show our appreciation by taking them on a short trip out, followed by the tea at the Oaklands.
Joan Green from National Police Aid Convoy who gave us an update of where to aid is being taken. Joan’s presentation was very interesting and she answered many questions from the volunteers. Joan explained that it is very expensive to transport to goods to needy areas around the world. The Inner Wheel Club of Warsop presented Joan with a cheque for £600 for the National Police Aid Convoy.
International Organiser Christine said a big ‘Thank You’ to the ladies and said fond farewell, as it is her third and final year in post. President Gloria thanked Christine for her service and for all the work she has contributed to fundraising for the international charities of Inner Wheel.

We had a lovely afternoon. Thank you to Christine for her three year dedication to International, and to our wonderful local ladies who knit fabulous blankets and clothes that are donated to those in need across the world.
