T’was the week before Christmas

T’was the week before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stiring, not a word from the spouse. The clippings were emptied in to the box in the car, in hopes of a great day, as we’ve travelled afar.

The ladies of Warsop are hosting a day, for Innerwheel members to come out to play. With garlands and flowers, and tinsel and bells; with holly and roses, rich fir trees. What smells!

When out in the foyer, such a clatter arose, as the late comers landed blaming ‘delays on the roads’. We welcomed them warmly and gave them a brew, settled them down with a close friend or two.

The demo had started, but not deterred; Christine was helping Susan Pasierb. The morning had started with a trivet and frogs, which we loaded with flowers, bits and bobs.

The morning went quickly, the time just flew by, as table arrangements appeared to the eye. ‘Come Gloria, Come Christine, Come Sue, Come on Hill, show us your creations; I’m sure they’ll be brill’.

We cleared all the tables, ‘be quick’ we all said, ‘as lunch is lasagna with rich garlic bread’. We giggled and gaggled, we talked a whole lot before Christine got started for her door hanging slot.

Creations, creations what talents we’ve got. You know Innerwheelers you’re a fantastic lot. With smiles all around us, and full of good cheer, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

In friendship we’ll see you in 2017, best wishes from President Gloria and all the ladies of Warsop Innerwheel Club.
