Langwith Flower Festival

On 14 August, members gathered for a short walk, before attending the local village flower festival. Langwith is only a few miles outside of Warsop and is home to several of our members. We met at Christine’s for a quick refresher before having a tour of the garden and off on our walk. Group photo.png

The walk was just over an hour, and the sun shone throughout.

We were all ready for lunch at the Langwith Community Village Hall where we regained out strength with homemade lasagne, salad and the obligatory piece of cake and a cup of tea.

At the village hall stalls were also available to purchase homemade goods and chutneys all for charity. Our very own Sue’s Boutique held pride of place in a marque at the front of the village hall. By all accounts people were waiting for the doors to open at 10am. Her reputation for a cheeky bargain precedes her.

Our members Christine, Sue and Chris had been busy creating arrangements with the theme of weather forecast. Here are just some of the wonderful displays that were on show in the village church. The flower festival was on all weekend from the Thursday and closed with a lovely church service where the main flower arrangements were displayed.

Another wonderful day with friends supporting a local event.

The following weekend at Holbeck village church, member Marjorie Zillwood provided these two exquisite alter arrangements which took pride of place in the beautiful Holbeck Church.
